How Will I Use My MP3 Player...

I want to play music as well as put audio books on it. It's quite a convenient piece of technology and I'm excited to get it.

I listened to Chuck Klosterman's IV. Hilarious.

Wait... this is technically the last week of Learn 2.0, right? Woot!

Music

Loved Liveplasma. Even though the website didn't recognize some of the bands I chose (I really didn't think it would), I was pleasently surprised to see that it did recognize others. It's always fun to find new artists.

I tried the Springwidgets and Yourminis, but I still don't really understand the point of them. Except for the fact that you can make your own website, well, sort of. It's not even entertaining to play around with them. So, obviously, I didn't sign up for either website.

Only a couple more weeks of Learn 2.0 to go!

Lesson 8

Flickr is interesting. I wouldn't like to put up personal photos of mine on the internet for everyone to see. I already have a photobucket account too, which is pretty much the same idea. I'm not able to take any pictures right now, but this coming week my dempartment will take some so we can upload them for the lesson.

I tried the prototype page, but I'm not really sure what the point of it is though. It's kind of, well, boring. The doggy is fun though.

Lesson 7

Lesson 7 was fun. It's always nice to find new websites to play around on. I registered my dog on Dogster, but I couldn't upload the picture for some reason. I'll have to fiddle around with it.

Week 6

The "Explore" for this lesson was pretty interesting. I enjoyed picking out my books on the Library Thing website, as well as, seeing how many other people are interested in the same books I read. The What Should I Read Next website wasn't as informational. They say they are still going through a process of gatering information, so I'm sure the website will be more accurate eventually.

Lesson 4

I was somewhat surprised to see that OCLS has some accounts on Myspace. I opened up the first one: www.myspace.com/ocls, and heard the song that's on there. Too funny. I've been listening to Harry and the Potters for a couple years now. It's always fun to hear them unexpectedly. I was thinking of them today actually. We had that guy perform in Library Central today and I was wishing Harry and the Potters would come and play. That would be too much fun. I actually saw them a few months ago. They played in down town at the Social. They're great performers and it's fun to see the little ones all excited.

Lesson 3 Findings

I really liked this weeks lesson. RSS feeds are amazing. There are so many websites you can subscribe to and it makes them so easy to find. I subscribed to the bookworm sites, some of the comic and gaming sites, dog lovers, exc. I also was able to subscribe to thesuperficial.com and iwatchstuff.com which are two sites I go to everyday.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the grokker site, but I typed "Philip K. Dick" to search and the map is pretty cool. Makes it easy to see what might interest you most or what you're looking for specifically.

All in all, awesome stuff.

About Me

Hello everyone!

In this post I am going to say a little bit about myself. I figure it's the easiest way to start things off.

I'm 21 and I currently live right outside Downtown Orlando (I say currently because I rent, and you all know how that is... maybe...). I live with my brother, Matt, and his friend Kevin. Yes, living with two 'boys' is tough, but it beats living with a complete stranger. Plus, I can just yell at them if they do something wrong. :) I am a senior at UCF and I am studying English Literature. I should graduate in December, yay! Afterwards, I plan to attend USF for my Master's in Library Science, which, explains why I work at a library.

I'm a big reader, obviously, and my favorite subject is science fiction. Philip K. Dick is my favorite author. I'm actually taking a science fiction class in the fall, and I'm really excited about it. I also like to hang out with my friends, meaning: movies, bars, clubs, dog park, exc. I also like to have my alone time, which I cherish more than anything.

My parents live in Port Saint Lucie. I have another brother, Brian, who lives there too. We have three dogs. Pepper: black lab/chow mix, almost 9 years old. Lola: tan lab/shepard mix, 3 years old, I think. Starlet (mine!): white pureblood lab, 6 years old. I think I miss them, especially Star, the most since I've been away.

Alright, I think that's about it for now. Thanks for reading!
